Schedule of Proposed Rate Changes

Posted: August 8, 2026

The rate adjustments listed below apply to non-fuel costs only. Fuel charges are calculated separately for each location based on the delivered cost of fuel and power system efficiency. Fuel charges are added to the non-fuel rates listed below.

The rates listed below are separated into three main service areas, Bethel, Yakutat and All Other locations. The rates are further divided into “Small Power- GS-1” and “Large Power -GS-2” rates for each service area.

All residential services and all services eligible for Power Cost Equalization (PCE) are billed at the Small Power rate. PCE subsidies are not shown in this table. The PCE rate is calculated separately and approved by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska for each community. The PCE subsidy applied to eligible services for the first 750 kWh per month for residential services and to eligible community facility accounts up to 70 kWh per month per person (census population).

Small Power rates include a monthly Customer Charge and an Energy Charge per kilowatt-hours (kWh) consumed. Large Power rates include a monthly Customer charge, an Energy Charge per kWh consumed and a Demand Charge per peak kilowatt (kW) of power used. Demand charge is based upon highest demand (kW) during the month or 85% of highest demand (kW) during past 12 months whichever is higher.
